This Course is no longer offered by the University VU’s Centre for Environmental Safety and Risk Engineering (CESARE), where this course is delivered, has an international reputation for multi-disciplinary research and graduate teaching programs This course allows a student to: graduate as a professional equipped to analyse and design cost-effective fire safety provisions in residential, commercial and industrial buildings develop your ability to plan, design, critically analyse, coordinate and complete complex projects develop research and reporting skills gain specialist knowledge of topics relevant to fire safety On successful completion of this course, students will be able to develop advanced technical knowledge and skills in the specialist discipline of fire science and technology and apply to a range of building and structural settings As a graduate, the student may be certified as meeting Engineers Australia's National Competency Standards for Professional Engineer at Stage 2(external link) if he/she has a bachelor degree in engineering
