Program Description Telling compelling stories and providing context to the issues that really matter is what a career in television news is all about. With Fanshawe's Broadcast Journalism – Television News program, you'll learn the hard skills necessary to find the heart of every story, and the technical skills needed to share them with your audience.
The television news business is changing. That's why you'll not only learn how to write effective news stories and shine in front of a camera, you'll also develop the skills to operate cameras, edit footage, write captivating news copy and how to conduct compelling interviews. As well, you'll learn the ins and outs of television production, directing and research. In the end, you'll be a versatile videographer, capable of adapting to any situation and work environment.
You'll also have extensive access to Fanshawe's Broadcast Centre - Canada's premiere broadcasting educational tool. And you'll make important industry connections via two internship placements - one ongoing throughout the program and another two-month internship in top newsrooms across Canada (during March and April).
When you graduate, you'll be prepared for a career in television news as a journalist, videographer, producer, editor or writer.
