Master of Professional Engineering (Chemical)

The Master of Professional Engineering (Chemical) is a flexible degree that will allow the students to a fast-track their career in engineering. Students will have the opportunity to diversify their engineering expertise with courses in environmental engineering or broaden their skills base in a complimentary area such as business and management, entrepreneurship and innovation, design or multimedia This program will help the students to develop management expertise, specialize and deepen their technical skills and be equipped to lead projects and move into more senior roles. Professionals Australia reports that engineers with postgraduate qualifications attract a 16% wage premium There are 3 pathways available under this program: For students whose undergraduate degree is NOT in engineering but is in a related STEM area. For example, a Science degree in physics, mathematics or chemistry, they will take the necessary courses to qualify as an engineer and be professionally recognized by Engineers Australia. This degree provides the perfect pathway to transfer their prior knowledge into an engineering context If the applicants are an international student seeking professional recognition from Engineers Australia* and the Washington Accord, or if they wish to extend their engineering and professional expertise in an Australian context, the 2-year MPE is the ideal program If the applicant is a graduate of a University of Newcastle Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree or equivalent, they can complete the MPE in just one year.
