All practical classes are taught in the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE) facility. ACCE is fully outfitted with up-to-date equipment and tools allowing Algonquin to teach both traditional, as well as advanced technology used in today`s welding and fabrication industry. Students learn key welding concepts including reading and interpreting engineered drawings, metallurgy and joint and metal preparation. While demonstrating safe handling of all materials and equipment, students develop skills in oxy-acetylene welding, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux-core arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding and plasma arc cutting.
