Program Description This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is designed to create industry expertise in the sustainable management of energy demand, performance and consumption. The energy management discipline produces industry professionals equipped to provide a broad range of energy solutions relating to energy management, efficiency, conservation and sustainability within a complex network of policy. Major areas of focus include energy innovation, entrepreneurship and development of new energy technologies to save money and reduce consumption of this finite resource. Students acquire fundamental energy sector knowledge and skills, including power generation, distribution and consumption. Through a combination of case studies, real-world activities and hands-on laboratory work, students gain practical experience relevant to developing, implementing, managing, administering and working on energy management programs. Students analyze large data sets, project energy usage, evaluate the impact of implementing energy efficiency/conservation programs and perform cost-benefit analysis.
