We know that the next generation of biological scientists will play an essential role in addressing some of the major problems facing modern civilisation - overpopulation, environmental change, human health and wellbeing within an ageing society. As such, we can expect the opportunities that exist for skilled biological scientists to be rich, rewarding and varied, and the ongoing investment of governments in the sector means that they are only likely to grow.
