Program Description History is the study of the human past. Historians analyze the causes and consequences of change over time. The study of History also takes the present into account, seeking to expand our knowledge of our own experiences through a deeper understanding of the past.

Through CBU’s History program, thought-provoking material and a diverse course selection is offered to students. Due to personal education experience with smaller classes, there’s ample opportunity to conduct original, independent research in your first year of study.

Get hands-on experience through CBU’s Internship Program in the heritage field at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, the Beaton Institute or the CBU Art Gallery. Travel with International Exchange Programs at selected universities abroad in Scotland and Ireland. Graduates develop a wide range of research and communication skills while preparing to pursue a career or enter a graduate program.
