College Diploma - Protection, Security, and Investigation (1225)

Program Description The Protection, Security and Investigation program prepares graduates in a wide range of skills, enabling them to pursue careers in customs administration and brokering and public safety. The program has a common first year with the other criminal justice cluster program, Police Foundations. The program deals with the development, purpose, and operation of the legal system generally, and law enforcement related to customs, immigration, and security specifically. It also involves knowledge of security operations to protect persons and property in both the private and industrial settings. A new component in the program will introduce students to firefighter and emergency care operations. Understanding human behaviour and the development of strong interpersonal and communications skills will prepare the graduate to function more effectively and humanely in professions which demand mature and responsible reactions.
