Program Description With our Pharmacy Technician program, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills necessary to assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications. MITT is fully accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) and students who graduate from our program will be eligible to write the National Qualifying Exam, governed by the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada (PEBC).
You’ll need strong math skills for this career area as part of the job involves doing the calculations to determine dosages and quantities to prepare/dispense. Additionally, you’ll use computers to process information, fill prescriptions and maintain patient medication profiles, plus you’ll learn how to compound creams, oral liquids and sterile products.
