Program Description Work in a dynamic, well-paid career while enjoying the beauty of Yukon’s outdoors. The mining industry needs highly-trained workers with a strong grasp of geology, geophysics and mineral exploration techniques and Yukon College’s Geological Technology program can provide that knowledge base.
Program graduates have gone on to conduct fieldwork for mineral exploration companies, work as junior geologists and assayers at operating mines, perform analytical work at geochemical and materials testing laboratories, and hold a variety of positions at local environmental consulting companies. In addition, some graduates choose to take their Yukon College credits and continue on to complete a four-year geology degree at a southern institution.
