Program Description Civil engineering technologists are the minds that build society’s infrastructure, including roads, urban subdivisions and storm-water systems. Starting with a comprehensive introduction to engineering fundamentals in your first year and developing a practical understanding of engineering design in your second, you’ll become familiar with the latest tools and software in use throughout the industry, including computer-assisted drafting (CAD), architectural engineering and construction (AEC), and geographic information systems (GIS). Of course, it won’t all be theory and classroom lectures. You’ll use industry-standard computer applications to complete your projects and you’ll even have opportunities to interact with today’s engineering technology professionals. Applied research opportunities will bring your knowledge and hands-on experience together through projects that take you into the field, using data from real sites to develop your personal portfolio.
