Program Description
Cambrian College's two-year Business Accounting program provides students with the essential theoretical and practical skills required for entry-level positions in the accounting industry. Students will be able to choose between two options. One option consists of the mainstream general education courses, while the other option allows students to gain awareness and understanding of some of the issues and opportunities in First Nations organizations. Following a first year of common curriculum shared by all accounting and business students, students will be immersed in accounting principles and practices that will prepare them for the realities of a career in accounting. This program will be delivered through both traditional classroom and online learning. These students may opt for one additional year in the Business Administration - Accounting program. Students may also receive credits towards the Certified Aboriginal Financial Management (CAFM) designation. In order to obtain advanced standing in the credits for CAFM designation, students must achieve a 70% average or more in certain courses.
