By applying new technologies to geographical problems Geography and Geo-Informatics help us understand human-environment relationships, and how they vary across time and space The degree is suitable for students, know thei interest lies in the field of Geo-Informatics and have a passion for computing, geography or mathematics, as well as an interest in spatial data Students will have the opportunity to undertake overseas field courses in places such as Malaysian Borneo, Mallorca, Austria and Vancouver Students will study themes including Global Vegetation Patterns and Dynamics, Earth from Space – monitoring environmental change, Plate Tectonics and Global Geophysics This degree will train students as geographical information scientists Students will be prepared for potential postgraduate study in surveying, cartography, remote sensing or Geographical Information Systems
