Course Description
Civil engineers find creative ways to solve real-world problems, developing the physical infrastructure for society to exist – from bridges to houses, and from roads to hospitals and train stations. This course provides a broad civil engineering education and will give students the design, analysis and construction skills needed for the industry. Students will be equipped with the abilities necessary for developing sustainable and cost-effective design ideas. Through industry-facing projects, a residential field trip, site visits and a work placement year, the course will give students the skills needed to begin a successful career. Students will learn about structures, materials, geotechnics and mathematics and develop an applied understanding of practical engineering techniques to find innovative solutions to real-world built environment challenges.
