Program Description Graduating students who have fulfilled the requirements for an Honours degree in International Development Studies may apply for a Specialization in Latin American Studies, if they have successfully completed the following credits from the Ecuador year abroad program, Spanish language, and area studies:
1.0 HSST credit from HSST 1000Y or 1001H and 1002H*; or 1.0 HSST credit from HSST 2500Y or 2501H and 2502H** 5.0 credits from IDST 2470Y, 2471H, 3800D, 3870Y, 3880Y, 3890Y, HSST 3001H, or POST 3430H * Students whose level of fluency in Spanish is judged by the instructor to exceed the level of HSST 1000Y are exempt from this requirement.
