Program Description Excel in both the arts and the sciences, at the same time, with U of G’s unique interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (BAS). In BAS you get to choose! You'll study integrated core courses that consider current and historical issues, and you'll choose two specializations that interest you most. You'll shape your critical thinking by studying perspectives across all disciplines. U of G’s BAS graduates go on to make a real difference as veterinarians, archaeologists, doctors, lawyers, communications and PR coordinators, and teachers. Join them in improving our society. The core courses in the BAS program are called ASCI (Arts and Sciences) Courses. Build your confidence as a speaker, writer and researcher through these courses. Learn to integrate material across disciplines. These unique courses provide you with a rock solid foundation on which to build a consistent network within your program each year. In your upper years, you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of unique courses that continue to investigate the ways in which cultural, social and scientific endeavours meet to confront real world issues. Options range from critically analyzing historical and current case studies to completing volunteer placements at local agencies.
