Program Description This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program prepares students to advance their career in Interactive Media Management. Now in its 20th plus year, this pioneering program is highly concentrated and allows students to develop the professional skill sets needed in today`s market. All courses follow a hands-on approach to experiential learning and emphasize individual skills while giving special importance to teamwork.
Students learn fundamentals, from the ground up, of the latest version of the Adobe Master Collection, the industry standard software package. They also learn how to plan, manage, design and prototype various multimedia projects from the ground up to completion. Topics include graphic layout, web and UX design, server-side development, project management, motion graphics, video composition, content management system (CMS), and dynamic media. Some of the programming taught include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and PHP. Students also experience a live client project during the second term, which greatly enhances their portfolio and resume.
This industry-driven program gives the graduate the solid foundation needed in today`s dynamic job market. The knowledge and experience gained is now standard in a wide variety of fields. Graduates may find employment in dynamic media development, web design, server-side development, photography, videography, motion graphics, project management, UX design, graphic design and layout, online education. Other opportunities involve start-up businesses and a wide variety of alternate professional fields.
