Here you will have hands-on learning of the latest digital technology as marketing trends demand new ways to reach customers. You will be able to boost your resumé with marketing projects completed for real industry clients, and you will have the opportunity to participate in simulations, marketing-oriented events and competitions, all of which will add to your industry network and experience to help you get that first marketing job. You will have two options to gain work experience and will either complete a field placement or a co-operative education (co-op) experience. NOTE: Students enrolling in this program are required to purchase their own laptop. As the link between an organization and its customer base, marketers require creative and practical decision-making skills and clear and persuasive communication skills. This program will help you develop your business skills for a variety of job opportunities in a number of different sectors. It will also offer a balance between the marketing-specific subjects and general business subjects required for success. Marketing-related studies include: Digital marketing Marketing communications Market Research Computer Applications for Marketing Sales You will develop a strong understanding of current business and marketing theories and practices with hands-on experience gained through the execution of marketing research projects; discussions about current marketing cases; and partnerships with local businesses including developing marketing recommendations to help them achieve their business objectives. After completing one year of business study, students may choose to graduate with a certificate in Business – Marketing.
