Design and visualization instruction You'll acquire a unique blend of job-ready creative and applied skills, including: 2D and 3D Computer-aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Building Information Modeling (BIM) Visual problem-solving Preparation of contract documents and specifications Envelope detailing Mobile computing Sheridan's Architectural Technology and Architectural Technician programs both use mobile computing, so you'll have 24/7 online access to lecture notes and other class material plus the ability to collaborate on group projects wherever and whenever. Paid work placements The three-year Architectural Technology Co-op program allows three paid work placements that provide students with practical experience and professional contacts. Enrolment is limited through an additional co-op application process that takes place in the first semester. Additional information Graduates from Sheridan’s two-year Architectural Technician program and three-year Architectural Technology program enter the workforce with two powerful competitive advantages: Superior, industry-approved education. A nationally recognized credential. Employers praise Sheridan Architectural Technology and Architectural Technician graduates because they're so well prepared by their program of study that they're productive on their first day which significantly reduces on-the-job training that may be required. Our graduates can qualify to become, and legally use the term, "Licensed Architectural Technologists" through fulfilling the requirements of the Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario (AATO). As well, in joining the Technologist arm of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) upon graduation, the OAAAS, you can enjoy the benefits of what the OAA has to offer, from resources, to access to in-house liability insurance. Additionally, you can have the opportunity to be examined, and apply for, a Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) in order to apply for building permits on behalf of clients.
