Course Description
Program Description In Community Music, you'll learn and experience the benefits of introducing music into different settings within a range of community contexts. Through creative songwriting, improvisation and group performance, our teachers will pass on the leadership and musicianship skills for you to facilitate community music. Community Music can lead to a range of rewarding careers within the music industry and beyond. Throughout all four years you will be performing, learning and improving your musicianship. Small group instruction and large ensemble work is available to all students. Private studio instruction is not part of the curriculum, but can be arranged as not-for-credit lessons through our on-campus conservatory. NOTE: Students must choose one of the subjects of major interest at the time of application from the following: Bassoon Cello Clarinet Double Bass Euphonium Flute French Horn Guitar Harp Lute Oboe Organ Percussion Piano Saxophone Trombone Trumpet Tuba Viola Violin Voice Other
