Program Description Sheridan’s Honours Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting program prepares you for an exciting career in business, accounting or finance. Building on this foundation, you'll focus on financial and cost analysis, taxation, assurance, ethical and regulatory compliance, and financial reporting in your third and fourth years. Additional information There's an unmet demand for accounting education given the large-scale retirements of baby boomers from the professional workforce. This new Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree has been designed to fill this gap. With a focus on your success, the new Honours BBA degree features an innovative educational approach that guides you in the development of your critical, creative and reflective thinking capacity. This will allow you to develop your personal awareness and learn to fully evaluate business processes so that you’re able to draw and articulate defensible conclusions in response to complex business situations. In your final year, you'll complete a community-based Integrated Industry Project or Research Thesis. In parallel with your academic studies, you’ll also develop a Creative Learning Portfolio, which fosters your self-awareness, reflective practice and an open mindset through the integration of activities. CPA recognition Sheridan's 120-credit-hour Honours BBA (Accounting) degree meets the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada's (CPA) degree requirement for entry into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP). Graduates of Sheridan's Honours BBA (Accounting) program that meet all of the CPA's minimum grade requirements qualify for exemption from the CPA Prerequisite Education Program (PREP) and qualify for entry into the CPA PEP. (Students who graduate with a Sheridan Honours BBA and meet the CPA's minimum grade requirements in some courses would be exempt from the corresponding CPA PREP modules.)
