Course Description
Program Description This two-year Ontario College Diploma program provides students with the knowledge and skills required to carry out the tasks performed in two main functional areas of library and information resource centres: technical services and public services. Technical services involve manual and automated operations related to acquiring, processing and organizing all types of informational material. Public services involve assisting or teaching clients in finding, or using information resources, in print and in electronic format. Students test their knowledge and skills through field placements in school, public, government and academic libraries, archives, records or information management organizations.
