Program Description The program prepares you to enter into a career in the residential and light commercial construction sector. The curriculum incorporates basic level trade theory of the general carpentry apprenticeship trade so that you will be productive, well trained and aware of the hazards and safety requirements on construction sites. You will learn how to apply your technical skills to solve a number of construction and renovation challenges. The program incorporates all aspects of construction from foundations to framing to finishing. Renovation-specific courses include green building science and outdoor structures. You will also acquire technical skills in the areas of project management, computer-aided design (CAD), specifications, and codes.
