Program Description Are you passionate about making music? This is the place to be. Our exceptional faculty will help you develop to your full potential, whatever your musical interests. You will have the opportunity to play in a variety of ensembles for credit including: University Singers, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Choir and Jazz Combo. The Windsor Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Fox Theatre and Michigan Opera Theatre are all just a short distance from campus. Detroit and Windsor’s thriving and influential jazz, pop, blues and electronic scenes will inspire and inform you. The School of Creative Arts will move into a custom-built facility in downtown Windsor in Winter 2018. We invite you to join us there and reap the benefits! This is a full-time program that offers intensive professional training. If your goal is a career as a musician or as a music educator, this is for you. Our program prepares you, both academically and pedagogically, for success in many facets of the music industry. Training includes courses in performance, music theory, music history, ear training, ensembles, music education and music technology, as well as non-musical options.
